Privacy Policy

When you create an account, we collect your email address and the username you choose. Everything else — your bio, avatar, ratings, reviews, watchlist, and favorite films — is information you voluntarily add to your profile.

We do not collect your real name, phone number, location, or payment information. Kinolog is free and we intend to keep it that way.

Your email is used solely to authenticate your account and, if you request it, to reset your password. We do not send newsletters or marketing emails.

Your public profile information — username, bio, avatar, ratings, reviews, and watchlist — is visible to other users and to anyone who visits your profile. This is the nature of a community platform; if you want something private, don't add it.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build profiles for third-party targeting.

Kinolog is built on infrastructure we trust but don't fully control. The following third-party services process some of your data as a result of using Kinolog:

• SupabaseOur database and authentication provider. Your account data and all content you create is stored on Supabase-managed servers. See supabase.com/privacy.
• VercelOur hosting provider. Web traffic passes through Vercel infrastructure. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• TMDB (The Movie Database)Film metadata, posters, and cast information are sourced from TMDB. We do not share your personal data with TMDB. See themoviedb.org/privacy-policy.

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. These are necessary for the site to function and are not used for tracking or advertising. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

You can edit or delete your profile information at any time from Settings. If you want your account and all associated data permanently deleted, email us at the address below and we will process it within 14 days.

You can also request a copy of the data we hold about you.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your reviews, ratings, and profile data are removed. Some aggregate data (such as a film's average rating) may persist in anonymised form.

We take reasonable precautions: authentication is handled by Supabase with industry-standard encryption, and database access is controlled by row-level security policies. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data as if it were our own.

Kinolog is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

If we materially change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Kinolog after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
